Exporting Individual Chats

Quick Start

After installing the extension, pin it to your browser toolbar for easy access. Click the puzzle piece icon, find ChatGPT to Notion, and click the pin icon.

Initial Setup

Complete this one-time authorization before saving conversations.

Notion Authorization

1. Click the extension icon and select “Go to Notion Authorization”

2. In the Notion authorization window:
   • Select your workspace
   • Click “Next”
3. Choose your save location:
   • Select “Save Page”
   • Choose an existing page or create a new one
   • Click “Allow Access”

Tip: If you can’t select the first option, click ‘Back’ then ‘Next’ again.

4. If selecting an existing page:
   • You can choose one or multiple pages
   • Select all desired pages
5. After authorization:
   • You’ll be redirected to Notion
   • Close the page and return to ChatGPT

Saving Conversations

You have multiple ways to save conversations:

Method 1: Save Entire Conversation (Quick)

1. Click the extension icon in your browser toolbar
2. Click “Save to Notion” button
3. The entire conversation will be saved to your selected database

Free tier limit: 5 conversations per day

Method 2: Save Individual Messages

Each assistant response has a “Save to Notion” button next to it.

1. Hover over any assistant response
2. Click the “Save to Notion” button in the toolbar
3. The message pair (your prompt + assistant response) will be saved

Tagged as: “Part” (indicating it’s a partial conversation)

Method 3: Select Multiple Messages

Select specific messages to save together:

1. Check the boxes next to the assistant responses you want to save
2. A floating “Save Selected” button appears at the bottom right
3. Click it to save all selected messages as one Notion page

Method 4: Save from Floating Button

The floating “Save to Notion” button at the bottom right saves the entire conversation.

1. Click the floating button
2. Select your target database
3. Click “Save”
4. View the saved page via the provided link

Enhanced Formatting

Enable this in the extension popup for better organization:

• OFF: Standard paragraph format
• ON: Uses toggle lists for each message pair (cleaner, collapsible)

To toggle:

1. Open extension popup
2. Find “Enhanced Formatting” in Setup section
3. Click the toggle switch

Group Chat Support

For ChatGPT group chats (/gg/ URLs):

• Same selection mechanism (checkboxes + floating button)
• Copy button available for each message
• Free tier limit: 2 group chats per day

Tips

• Pin the extension for quick access
• Use “Select Multiple” for saving specific parts of long conversations
• Enhanced Formatting makes long conversations easier to navigate in Notion
• Free tier quotas reset daily

Troubleshooting

If save fails:

1. Ensure stable internet connection
2. Check Notion authorization is valid
3. Refresh the ChatGPT page
4. Reopen the extension popup
